This 2-day trek around the Berber villages in the Atlas Mountains is an enriching and worthwhile trip departing from Marrakech. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the stunning landscapes and valleys on foot.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil (1740m) – Tizi n’Tamatert Pass (2280m) – Tinghrine village (1800m)
- Depart from your Marrakech hotel at 8:00 am.
- Drive south through gorges and high passes to the Berber town of Imlil (1740m).
- Begin your trek from Imlil towards Tizi n’Tamatert Pass (2280m) with beautiful views over Imnane Valley & Imlil Valley.
- Take a short break at the pass before descending via a dirt road to cross the river and reach the village where you’ll stay at a Berber lodge.
- Trek duration: 5 hours.
Day 2: Tinghrine village (1800m) – Tizi n’Augersioual Pass (2000m) – Aguersioual (1640m) – Marrakech
- Continue the trek from Tinghrine village down along the Imnane Valley, passing the Berber village of Ikkiss (1700m).
- Proceed to Tizi n’Aguersioual Pass and then descend to the village of Aguersioual for lunch.
- After lunch, you’ll be picked up and driven back to Marrakech.
- Trek duration: 4 hours.
